Liner Love

I am pretty simple when it comes to eyeliner. I like it pigmented, black, and as waterproof as possible. It also helps if they are very easy to use, especially for when I’m in a hurry. I don’t like to spend tons of time on my liner, and I definitely do not want to reapply throughout the day. There are a couple that I just love and are in my daily rotation. So you get to know all of my current and long time favorites! The best part of all of this? All but one item are drugstore items!

This is my holy grail gel eyeliner. I was a long time lover and fan of MAC’s Fluidline and Bobbi Brown’s gel eyeliner and once I gave this product a whirl, I have never returned back. It lasts forever. I have never had problems with this liner fading, creasing or running into my eyes ever. It just stays put! Using one of my eyeliner brushes makes this product super easy to apply. It’s also friggin cheap. It’s $3 at Target. However, my dears, every once in a while, ELF will have 50% off sales online. Sign up for email alerts. Worth it. That’s when I stock up! So yeah, $1.50 sounds pretty amazing for my favorite eyeliner. (Edited to add: is having a BOGO 50% off all items! Grab yourself some!)

I will say up front that I am not a fan of liquid eyeliners where you pull the applicator out of a tube and keep dipping it in to get more product as you reapply. I prefer a thin pen, as it gives me more control. I haven’t had much luck finding a drugstore pen that I really like as much as my Eyeko pen (we’ll get to that in a second). But then I saw my pal, Claire, had instagrammed a picture talking about this liner. She gives great product suggestions so I gave it a whirl and it definitely is in the rotation! I like it a lot and I think it’s a great pen liquid liner to start out with if you have never tried one before. Very easy to apply, as the super thin felt tip gives you a lot of control. It stays pretty well, too!

Can I just say for a second how much I dislike the ridiculously long names that L’Oreal gives their products? I mean, come on. I feel like L’Oreal is putting us through a tongue twister exercise. I am a mother pheasant plucker. I pluck mother pheasants. I am the pleasantest mother pheasant plucker to ever pluck a mother pheasant. Say that fast and make sure you’re not in a public place while doing so. Wait, what were we talking about? Right, eyeliner. I am willing to forgive them for a moment because this is, quite literally, the absolute best pencil liner I’ve ever owned. I keep repurchasing it. First of all, it’s highly pigmented and super smooth. It really goes on almost like a gel/cream liner in pencil form. So creamy. Then when it sets, it does not budge whatsoever. I love to smudge this out for a smoky look and it looks amazing. I put this on my upper and lower waterline and it intensifies my look. I think this liner is seriously the bomb dot com. The only downside is that it is hard to get it in a very thin, sharpened point because it is so creamy. That doesn’t bother me because I don’t really use it to draw thin lines with (I use liquid or gel eyeliner for that).

I kept hearing how much people love these eyeliners, and I must say I am quite impressed. These run very inexpensive, at under $4. It reminds me a lot of my favorite L’Oreal pencil, but not quite as creamy and just a hair less long lasting. I have been using it a lot, though. I especially love using this on my upper waterline to intensify my look. I haven’t had stellar luck with it on my lower waterline, however.  I think it’s a pencil worth having because it is cheap, super pigmented, and very long lasting. Probably the best pencil eyeliner at its price point.

I don’t think I have been able to find a liquid pen liner that comes close to this product. It’s super pigmented and the most waterproof eyeliner I have ever tried. See, I love that. Because I use olive oil to remove makeup and I shower at night, removing any stitch of makeup is not a concern for me. I like how the felt tip of this liner is a litter stiffer than some of the others I’ve tried, which I feel makes it easier to use.

So there you have it! My favorites! What are your favorite eyeliners? Tell me all so I can give it a try!
