I seriously can’t believe how fast this summer has flown by. It already being August is just crazy to me! This week is filled with a lot of busy things, specifically my sister’s wedding! I am excited to be her maid of honor. I am looking forward to having family and friends in town to celebrate. All that aside, it’s time for my July 2013 Beauty Favorites!
I have actually got a lot of makeup this summer and it’s so hard to narrow my favorites down to 5 favorites. I purchased a lot of ELF products when they had their 50% off sale online, and I recently got a few new makeup brushes. I’m thinking I may do some videos… maybe some hauls and short reviews of what I got. But for now, here are my top favorite products for the month of July!
WET ‘N WILD COLOR ICON EYESHADOW PALETTE – WALKING ON EGGSHELLS
I have so many of these Wet ‘n Wild palettes, both the 3-color and 6-color ones. I held off on this one because I thought I had too many similar eyeshadow shades. But I saw somewhere that these shades were dupes for MAC and Urban Decay shades, specifically this pin, so I had to give it a try. I will say that they are really great dupes! I especially love the light pink ‘eyelid’ shade, which is a great dupe for UD’s sin. It’s a great buy for $3 and, as always, the quality and pigmentation of the shadows are amazing. The only thing I don’t like is they don’t travel very well. They tend to break easily.
ELF EYEBROW KIT
I purchased this when ELF had their 50% sale online. I tend to stock up and buy most of my ELF products when they do these sales so I can try things out for super cheap. I did a lot of research this time before buying so I wasn’t wasting money on crap makeup (ELF is very hit or miss for me), and this eyebrow kit is my favorite out of the bunch! People have compared it to Benefit’s brow kit. I can’t speak to that since I’ve never tried that. I think this is a great product if I have a little extra time to make my eyebrows super duper pretty. I still am faithful to my Anastasia pencil!
CROWN FLAT TOP KABUKI
I was doing a little bit of research on brushes and somehow ended up at Crown Brushes website. Apparently a lot of professional makeup artists use them, and they are also budget friendly. I ordered a few. Shipping was super fast! Overall, I think the quality is a little less stellar than Sigma for most brushes, but there was a standout. The flat top kabuki (it’s actually called the infinity flat bronzer… whoops) is the favorite one of the bunch. I love using it to apply liquid foundation.
REVLON COLORSTAY WHIPPED CREME FOUNDATION
If you know me, you know I am a die hard Colorstay fan. I tend to go back and forth between the liquid and creme formulations. Lately I have been using the creme, and while I still think the liquid is my favorite, this has been great to use. I really enjoy using just a tiny bit and blending it out really well, and it looks so natural and perfect for hot, summer days.
DIOR LIP GLOW
I got this a few months ago with a gift card and just kind of forgot about it. It’s one of those cult lip products that everyone raves about and I just wasn’t seeing the magic that I thought would appear. Then, randomly, recently I started wearing it again. And I love it! I don’t think it’s magical, but I think it provides amazing hydration to the lips while giving them a “your-lips-but-better” appearance to them. While I find this can be used year round, I especially think it’s great for summer because I have been really going for natural, minimal looks lately.
So there you have it! What have you been loving lately? Share with me in the comments so I can add it to my ever-growing beauty wish list!
