Subscription Box Share – August Ipsy

Hello there! Today is Subscription Box Share with myself, Tara, and Katie! Write about any subscription boxes you received the past month and come back here to link them up with us. Already write about it? No big deal! Link your post up below so we can go check it out! Today I’ll be sharing my Ipsy bag. I actually nixed Glossybox this past month to save a little money, but Ipsy is too good, and cheap enough to justify!

OVERALL THOUGHTS:
I think this is probably one of my best Ipsy bags to date. The lipstick is incredibly quality – goes on smooth and is pretty long lasting, without being over drying. The shade is a pinky-red, which was a lot of fun to wear. The eyeshadow is a super flattering color, although I prefer not to work with loose pigments (sometimes I am clumsy and they get all over the place). The Smashbox primer is a great primer, but I will be saving this with all of my sample size products I use for travel. I prefer my Monistat Gel (read this post before you start raising those eyebrows) because it is so cheap and basically the same. I love the Michael Todd pumpkin mask. I have been hearing a lot of YouTubers talk about this stuff and it was nice to finally try something of this line. It smells like pumpkin pie on my face, and you can really feel the glycolic acid doing its thing. Love love love it! The mascara was just okay, just sort of unmemorable for me. Probably going in the travel pile as well.

What did you get last month?

My post about my August Ipsy bag goes up tomorrow. It was my first bag and I was so excited about it 🙂 I got a Michael Todd Jojoba Charcoal Facial Scrub, Noya lip balm, Pixi mascara (which I didn’t like and definitely isn’t worth $17), Pacifica BB Cream, and Nailtini nail polish.

The pumpkin mask sounds amazing though. That’s one I wish I had gotten 🙂

I heard a lot of bad comments about the pumpkin mask, was is harsh on your face? I would LOVE a mask that smells like pumpkin pie, but not if it is harsh.

Really? I really love the mask, but I am used to giving myself at-home chemical peels and I do not have very sensitive skin. I can see maybe how it might bother those who have sensitive skin.

Oooo I love that eyeshadow!! Such a pretty color. I’ve never tried loose powder though… Not sure how that would go.

Loose powder seems to do a lot better when it’s lighter colors, or highlight colors. Which this color worked really well for. But I would be scared to use loose pigments that are dark colors!

Thank you so much! I actually take those pics on the changing table in Kennedy’s room! I take the changing pad off and use the white background of the table! Nothing special! I use a DSLR camera as well. Thanks for your sweet comment!
