Essence of Beauty Skincare Review + Giveaway

Disclosure: I was given a facial from this spa in exchange for this review. How could anyone say no to that? However, all  opinions are 100% my own, and always are.

Essence of Beauty Skincare Review + Giveaway

A few weeks ago, I had the absolute pleasure of getting an advanced facial from Essence of Beauty Skincare. When I was first approached, it couldn’t have come at a better time, as I was stressed out beyond belief and my skin was looking terrible. First of all, it was a no-brainer to say yes for the chance to receive a facial from a spa, and second, this spa really intrigued me.

The spa is nestled in a quaint shopping center in the Cypress area of Houston, which is a bit of a drive for me but well worth it. The spa itself is a small space, which gives the ability for customers to receive special and individual treatment. It is warm and inviting. When I arrived, I was greeted by Cassandra, who is the owner and esthetician of the spa. She was very friendly and was actually able to take me for my appointment earlier than scheduled since I arrived early.

I got to sit down and talk with Cassandra a bit about her spa and this all really made me feel like I was in qualified and capable hands. Cassandra was trained by a very popular spa institute and has had over thirty years of experience working in a holistic spa with ayurvedic techniques. She was looking to branch out and offer clients the ability to take advantage of effective medical grade spa treatments. She loved the approach and relaxation techniques of a holistic spa but also wanted to incorporate medical grade equipment in her offerings. Most places where you can receive advanced facials and skincare treatments are usually in a doctor’s office setting and are not the same as going to a spa. She opened Essence of Beauty as a spa that could offer both but still be a relaxing experience for the client. She is constantly seeking new education and training in the world of skin care, so that her spa and clients can reap the benefits of new technology and practices.

It has been since high school that I had a facial and as I reached my thirties, I began to wonder if it was even worth it for me to get one. Little did I know I was wrong. I was blown away by how knowledgable Cassandra is about skincare. Seriously, this woman is awesome. One thing she told me was that I use my Clarisonsic too much. I had no idea this was a bad thing – I always thought it should be used religiously! She said that too much exfoliation is really hard on the skin and that I should be using it only a few times a week. I have started following that advice and have seen my skin actually looking better than when I was using it every day. Go Cassandra!

Essence of Beauty Spa

I talked with Cassandra about my skincare issues (acne, starting to show a little signs of aging, hyperpigmentation) and she completely customized a facial to meet my needs, as she does with all of her clients. She gave me the Anti-Wrinkle Facial and then introduced two different medical-grade LED lights, one that combats acne and another that helps with anti-aging and hyperpigmentation. Throughout the entire process, she took great care to make it feel extremely relaxing. I’m pretty sure I even fell asleep at one point. She uses various massage techniques and I felt very comfortable. I had no idea getting a facial was…. you know, this relaxing. I thoroughly enjoyed it! If you’re curious as to what treatments Essence of beauty has to offer, you can check that out here. Here’s Cassandra and me after my appointment. If I look tired, it’s because I was so relaxed! And yeah, instagramming myself totally bare faced.

Today I got to receive an amazing spa/medical grade facial from Essence of Beauty Skincare and I just loved it! Thank you, Casandra! My bare face looks so fresh!!! I think I can get used to these kinds of blogging perks...

Now, the important question. What about results? Folks, I can tell you that my skin is looking seriously amazing right about now and the results have lasted. I am definitely not using as much foundation or concealer to cover up and I can see a definite difference in the texture of my skin. The post-acne marks are clearing up. I think more facial appointments are definitely in my future.

Today, one lucky reader has the opportunity to win a facial for himself/herself! Houston people, this one is especially for you! You will also have the opportunity to win a prize pack, which includes HydroPeptide skincare deluxe samples and a blinc heated eyelash curler. Let me just tell you, I am loving the HydroPeptide skincare line, especially the brightening toner. And the heated eyelash curler is really awesome! Who doesn’t look a good beauty gadget? And you can win all of this for yourself!
