If you are a Texan or love Texas, you probably know that the state flower is the bluebonnet. They usually start popping up this time of year, and when they do, it’s gorgeous. Fields and hills are covered with all sorts of wildflowers. Unfortunately, you don’t see them as much down here where we live near the coast, so when we found a pretty epic patch only ten minutes from our house, you better believe we were excited (as were the ten other cars parked on the side of the road).
We got Kennedy dressed in a little getup from my soon-to-be launched boutique, Little Kennedy Boutique, bribed her with some M&Ms to pose for pictures and let her take a romp in the wildflowers. I should have payed more attention to how I was actually shooting the photos on my camera, but let me tell you, it’s hard work bending over pregnant to take pictures of a constantly moving toddler. Pretty much like doing squats for thirty minutes straight. At least I got my work out in!
When did she start looking like such a…little girl? This whole growing up thing needs to stop.
Do we have a little model on our hands? Good, because she will be the face of Little Kennedy Boutique. Let’s not mention the fact that she kept saying “no like dress!” when I put that dress on her. She has been terrible with posing for photos lately, but I think the key now is talking about it a lot before we actually go do it. We kept saying “Kennedy! We’re going to go play in the flowers outside and pictures! Do you want to do that?” And it seemed to work in terms of getting her prepared.
Oh look! A wardrobe change! We are that legit. Can we also talk about how cute this little dress is, too? I forsee this being a perfect Memorial Day / 4th of July / summer backyard barbeque dress. Consider yourself lucky you get these big ol’ sneak peeks!
Kennedy was a bit uncomfortable being in the flowers at first, but Greg was great getting her to play. Below you can see how he got her to “smell the flowers.” She would run up, bend over to the flowers, and pretend to sniff them and say “that smells good!”
All in all, it was a really fun afternoon frolicking in the bluebonnets with my two loves. I love that spring is finally here.

Your little model is just so precious! I don’t know how you do anything but snuggle her all day. Goodness the cuteness kills me! From these previous I’m also going to be ga-ga over your shop! If the little boy clothes are anything like the girl clothes, I should warn my husband that we’re going into debt!
Lindsay @ Trial By Sapphire says
Even models don’t like everything they’re given to wear. Why would Kennedy’s modeling be any different? 😉 Such cute dresses!
Ruthie & Rose says
Kennedy is just darling! And that dress with the big pink bow is everything! This modeling thing is right up her alley. XO
