I’m so disappointed Spring Break is over. All my teacher friends, can I get an amen? A Malibu beach house sounds like a way better way to spend the day, rather than being back at work today.

Last week, my family and I traveled to California and it was Caroline’s first trip out of state! Packing for four is no joke, and we were quite the sight with how much we toted around. Such is the life of parents with small children.

When packing, it was extremely important to not only pack the necessities, but make sure we had everything to keep us safe and well. Recently, Levana sent us the Sophia™ Video Baby Monitor, and let me tell you – it’s not only a great monitor, but it’s perfect for traveling. The monitor is compact and didn’t take up a lot of space in the suitcase. More room for makeup!

We’ve actually never taken a baby monitor with us on vacation, which boggles me because we have traveled so much with Kennedy. Now that we’ve taken the Levana with us, it’s always going to go with us when we travel. In the past, we’ve put apps on our phones to serve as montiors, but those have never really worked 100% of the time. The Levana is just a no-brainer.

We were lucky to have a pack and play provided by the owners of the house we rented, and the house had so much space to spread out. Miss Caroline was serenaded by the waves of the Pacific ocean – no need for a noise machine! It also gave me so much peace of mind to know that we could enjoy cooking and hanging out downstairs while Caroline was asleep upstairs. Or I could leave the kids with my mom so Greg and I could go to Villa Blanca and Sur to stalk Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules cast members. Priorities, people.

During the trip, I had to take the poor baby to urgent care because she had croup. It was pretty awful. Her sleep was interrupted a lot by coughing and an overall feeling of being miserable. As moms, we are especially on high alert when our babies are sick, but having the monitor really gave me peace of mind.

Because… there’s no harm in wanting to enjoy the incredible sunsets of Malibu, right?
