Happy hump day! I’ve got something fun and exciting to get us over the hump – fun lip products! Butter London sent me their new line of Bloody Brilliant Lip Crayons (so British, me likey), and I couldn’t wait to share! Butter London is a favorite nail polish brand of mine, and I own about 8 of their polishes. I love them! They recently launched more cosmetics in their brand, and these lip crayons are some of their newest launches. I got 7 out of the 8 shades listed on their website (spoiler alert: I got a second set I’m giving away).
The lip crayons are formulated as an all-in-one formula that has the full pigment of a lipstick, shine of a lipgloss, and the precise line of a lip liner. I also love how each product comes with its own sharpener, right in the lid. Sharpening lip crayons can be a pain, and this makes it so easy.
As soon as I ripped into the package, I sat down and took pictures of myself as I swatched them on my lips. I am not in full glam makeup, as I was chasing around two small children all day, and hadn’t really touched my makeup for at least five hours. I also don’t know what to do with my face while photographing lip swatches, so you get awkward and weird faces. Do you expect no less from me?
Tea With the Queen – Opaque, light nude creme. Appropriately named because I would likely wear this lip color if I was having tea with Queen Elizabeth. Do you think she would notice my lip color? Also, how exactly do I get invited to have tea with the queen? Anyone got any connections? And a private jet to fly me to London? Anyway, back to the lip crayon. I don’t think it’s entirely opaque, but it’s definitely a flattering nude. Great for every day, especially those minimal makeup days!
Teddy Boy – Opaque, rosy pink. This looks more mauve on me, and it’s a gorgeous every day color! Kind of like a “my lips but better.” Side note: I don’t know what’s so exciting on the ceiling.
Trout Pout – Opaque, light coral creme. Super flattering coral. Loving it. This photo is an attempt at me doing the whole pursed lips thing as to show off my lip color. I think I’m succeeding.
Disco Biscuit – Opaque, bubble gum pink creme. Can we say best name ever?! I want to eat biscuits at a disco!!! Are we talking British biscuits (which are actually more like cookies), or are we talking biscuits and gravy? Either way, I’m down. But yeah, the lip color. I don’t think it looks like a bubblegum pink to me, but it’s really pretty and extremely wearable! Makes me want to go to a biscuit disco!!!
Primrose Hill Picnic – Opaque, tropical pink creme. Cool toned fuschias usually are my favorite, and I think this is my favorite shade of the bunch! Classy name, too. Hence the classy face. Winning.
Toff – Opaque, red grape creme. I don’t think I would describe this as a red grape shade – it’s more of a brown-y red to me. I think it’s gorgeous and will definitely be in rotation in the fall and winter months! Side note: is “toff” British slang for something naughty? I’m thinking it is. (Just looked it up: it’s a derogatory slang for someone who is aristocratic with an “air of superiority.”) Do I look like a Toff? Yes. Just go with it.
Ruby Murray – Opaque, deep berry creme. I am going to wear the HECK out of this in the fall. I love berry lip products in the fall! I think it’s because they are cool toned and are so flattering on me. I always fall for a cool tone because they suit me so well! And GASP, the floor to the left of me is beautiful.
