Happy Friday, friends! For some unknown reason, I’ve neglected posting on Fridays lately. I want to pick that back up. I decided it would be fun to start blogging about new products or things I’m loving each week. I can talk about some of the press samples I’ve received, a haul if I went shopping, an outing my family took, random updates from throughout the week, etc. I started doing “life updates” on Friday but kind of ran out of things to talk about quickly, as not much changes from week to week around here in my personal life. Haha.
Anyway, so, today I wanted to show you this month’s Beauty Box 5! It is a monthly beauty subscription box, where you can get 5 products shipped to you a month for $12. They’re a Texas company (with a warehouse in Houston, no less!) so it’s always fun to talk about local companies. I like how the boxes are a mix of budget friendly and high end products. Beauty Box 5 has been sending me boxes for a couple of months, although they are not paying me to post about them. I just thought this box was super cute, fun, and share worthy!
Beauty Box 5 October 2015
This month’s theme was “Think Pink!” I would assume it’s a nod to breast cancer awareness, which I thought was a nice touch, although there was no mention of it. Whether it’s a nod to breast cancer awareness or not, it’s super cute. Not to mention, the little card it came with is adorable and is definitely going into my “photo styling prop stash.” #bloggerproblems It’s also full of brands I’ve never heard of before. Let’s jump right in.
Happy Hands HappyFace Makeup Cleansing Cloth // full size, retail $3.99 // I’ve never heard of this brand, but I have been wanting to try a makeup cleansing cloth! You’re supposed to be able to remove all your makeup with just the cloth and no makeup remover whatsoever. It’s very soft, is resusable, and can be washed in the washing machine. I’m super pumped to try it.
Ferro Cosmetics Pink Rhinestone Kabuki Brush // full size, retail $25.00 // This kabuki is very soft and dense… I think it will perform very well for bronzers and if I want more coverage with powders. I will say, though, I am shocked that this retails for $25.00. I would have guessed it is much cheaper, as it almost looks a little cheap to me. My E.L.F. kabuki brush is more dense, although I will say this one is super soft.
Styli-Style Perfect Pout Long Lasting Balm Stick // full size, retail $4.99 // I’ve tried it on my lips once and it feels very moisturizing with a great tint of color. I’ve been looking for a nice balm like this, and it will be great to use on those “no makeup makeup” days. I am not sure about how long it lasts, however.
Knotty Hair Ties // full size, retail $4.00 // Can’t ever go wrong with these kind of hair ties. Bonus: they’re pink.
Nubar Nail Polish Mini in “Pinktober” // retail $4.99 // I’ve been all about the dark, vampy nails lately (a la this instagram post), but you can never go wrong with a baby pink nail polish. This one seems right up my alley because it is cool toned and looks very opaque. Not sure if this mini size retails for $4.99 or the full size, but by the looks of the brand’s website, the full size nail polishes retail for $8.40.
Super fun. Pretty. Cute. Festive. Excited about that wash cloth thing. Anything life changing in here? Nope. But the total retail value of this box is $42.97, and I am pumped that these items are very “staple” type products (hair ties, makeup removing cloth, balm, brush, pale pink polish… seems very staple to me), but packaged and put together in a fun way. Not to mention, who doesn’t love a present in the mail?! Nobody, that’s who.
