My Hair Story

Disclosure: This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Dove Hair, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia # MyHairStory #DovePartner

As much as I love to experiment with makeup, I can’t say the same with my hair. I have kept it very similar throughout the years. I didn’t start coloring it until after I graduated from college. I have always kept it past-the-shoulders long, with some short spurts here and there. My hairstyles on rotation are straight and curly. I rarely wear it up or braid it. I’m a creature of habit!

I’ve made a little chronological hair collage if you will, so you can see how boring my hairstyles have been. Haha!

my hair throughout the years
Even though I haven’t changed my hair all that much throughout the years, looking at these pictures brings back great memories. When I think about what my hair looked like, I think back to memories like studying abroad in London, when I first started dating Greg, or what it looked like after I had my kids.

I look at that super short haircut (third pic, top row), and know that’s right when I met Greg. I look at the picture below it and know that I’m pregnant with Caroline. Those bangs were a mistake, but that was a fun mistake to make.

I think my hair has been through the ringer the most after having kids. I felt the most down I ever have about my hair. Postpartum hair loss is no joke, and the texture of my hair has seemed to change after having babies. It gets damaged much easier, as well.

I’ve found that keeping heat styling to a minimum, low maintenance hairstyles, and using products that repair the hair are key. I recently picked up the NEW Dove Regenerative Nourishment Collection at Target and my hair is already thanking me.

In combination with no heat hairstyles, my hair is feeling super healthy and is not breaking off as easily. I’m especially loving that Dove Regenerative Nourishment Serum in Oil – it can be used on wet or dry hair. It’s great to use on second or third day hair, when it needs little reviving!

Next time you are at Target, grab the new Dove Regenerative Nourishment Shampoo, Conditioner and Serum in Oil. Your hair will thank you!

Dove products have sulfates and they are horrible for your hair. Even the ones that say they are ok for color treated or processed hair do damage! T
