I’ve done one of these posts before, but I really enjoyed myself. I have been meaning to do it for a while, so here we are again, finally! I bring you a photo an hour for an entire day in my life. I know, super exciting.
These photos are from Monday. For those that are new or don’t remember, I teach and direct high school theatre. This represents a typical work day, except I didn’t have rehearsal after school. I’ll be sure to do one of those soon. I will say that it is a bit difficult to snap photos while teaching so I did as best as I could to be discreet with my phone.
6:20 a.m.
About to get ready for work. I’m obviously a morning person.
7:20 a.m.
Tardy bell for first period just rang. Checking my work email as kids settle in. I always like to give a few minutes to wake up before we start. Theatre first thing in the morning can be a little abrupt sometimes.
8:20 a.m.
This picture disappeared. FAIL.
9:20 a.m.
Third period I teach a Musical Theatre class. We just finished performing a showcase for last semester but this semester we wanted to work on something pretty substantial. The idea is to write an original script and insert popular style or Broadway songs that fit into the storyline. We had a brainstorming session to begin the process. Right now, First World Problems the Musical is winning. What do you think? Ha.
10:20 a.m.
Fourth period Advanced Theatre I. We just started a Musical Theatre unit in my Theatre I classes and this is a snippet of the paperwork for the assignment. They are to develop two scenes around a song of my choosing, which happens to be “You’re Nobody ’til Somebody Loves You” by Dean Martin. We have had a lot of fun with this in years past.
11:20 a.m.
Lunch time. A glorious 30 minutes for lunch. Today’s lunch is leftover Pei Wei. Tofu teriyaki bowl for the win.
12:20 p.m.
Fifth period Theatre I. A student was asking me a question about something and I pretended to look something up on my phone and I sneakily snapped a picture in the process. Muah ha ha. Oh, feet.
1:20 p.m.
Sixth period. I co-teach a UIL One-Act Play class. I took a snack break for some dark chocolate covered almonds. They’re my crack. I buy them in bulk and share them.
2:20 p.m.
Picking up my princess from her school. When I walked in she was reading with one of her teachers and she proceeded to stand up, show me her belly button, and laugh her head off about it. I love this child.
3:20 p.m.
Kennedy is napping so that means I can lay in bed and catch up on some month old Project Runway All-Stars.
4:20 p.m.
The belly button loving child has awoken from her slumber. So naturally it’s time to draw on her chalkboard her uncle gave her.
5:20 p.m.
Shopping trip to my local Walgreens to pick up some items for an upcoming blog tutorial. I love these new Revlon lip products!
6:20 p.m.
Diaper change time. A book helps keep this squirmy toddler still. She calls this “Mouse Eats the Cookie.” It’s a new favorite among us.
7:20 p.m.
Trying to capture a good ol’ selfie has proven itself difficult lately. I basically had to get her into a choke hold. Okay, not really.
8:20-9:20 p.m.
No photo evidence because of obvious brain fart. I was chatting with my friends Michelle and Channing on a Google hangout! Fail. I have yet to do a perfect photo an hour but that’s life. Oh well!
10:20 p.m.
Getting ready for bed. I actually caught this picture in mid-yawn (when I was actually trying to not yawn) and thought it was the most unflattering picture ever, so of course it’s going in this post.
So there’s my day. Riveting. I hope you enjoyed creeping on my life!

Okay, that last pic of you yawning is cracking me up!! I love this post, I think the last time you did it, I said I was going to and never did. I should really get on that. Also – K with her belly button is so cute. Love her sweet face! xo
