Disclosure: Many thanks to Huggies for sponsoring today’s post, and helping us “Super Moms” save a little time so we can binge watch Netflix. Not that I’m doing that this summer…
Although I don’t feel like it, some of my friends and family members seem to think I’m a “super mom”. Super mom? What does that mean, anyway? I mean, I only have a full-time teaching/directing job, run a blog, and a side business. What’s super about that? No, but in all seriousness, I have many days where I feel like I am failing as a mother, wife, housekeeper, cook, etc. Sometimes it’s really hard to “find time for fabulous.” The lazier I get, the harder it is. That’s why it’s absolutely crucial for me to stay organized, even on summer break. Being organized means our house is ran more efficiently, we eat healthier meals, we can take on more commitments with ease, and we have more time to ourselves (i.e. binge watching House of Cards on Netflix). These 5 time saving tips for moms are things that I try to do consistently and help our family, so hopefully they can help you, too!
1. Shop Online
Who loves taking their kids all over creation to run errands? Yeah, me neither. I only have one kid right now, so I know it will be exponentially worse come August! That’s why shopping online is big for us. If I can find it online, I will usually get it. Most of the time it’s cheaper, anyway! Diapers are no exception. I recently learned about Diapers.com, and let me tell you, what a lifesaver! They offer free shipping on orders over $50, which is great for those bulk diaper orders. I really hate going out to the store to buy diapers, so diapers.com my new go-to. They also have a wide array of other baby/toddler necessities. Oh, and they have an awesome promotion for first-time customers going on right now! Make sure you use code “WOWHUGGIES” and you will be able to get $12 off your purchase of a case of Huggies diapers.
2. Meal Prep
I am huge into grocery shopping and meal prepping on the weekends. I plan each meal out for the week, we grocery shop as a family, and then when we get home, I start working. I chop up all of the fruit and veggies and put them in sealed containers in the fridge. I cook up things like quinoa, rice, black beans (we buy them dried and cook them ourselves to help with sodium intake), and a possible meat if I need to.
3. Keep a Family Calendar
Greg and I keep a Google calendar that we try to update as much as we can so we can see everything the other person is up to. I even include bill payment reminders. It’s very helpful to be able to just pull up the calendar to see what Greg is doing that week, and vice versa. We also keep a weekly dry erase calendar on the fridge, where I will write our dinner plans along with any other events, meetings, or commitments we have going on during the week. This is also a great visual for us. Even though it’s summer, you can see we are pretty busy. This is crucial to keep updated during the school year!
4. Set Reminders
Utilize the technology you have at your fingertips. All the time, I will tell Siri on my iPhone to remind me to do something later, like “Yo, Siri, remind me at 4:00 to start the laundry, because I am super forgetful and those sheets are totally going to get moldy if I don’t put them in the dryer stat!” I’ll tell her to add events to my calendar, or even set alarms. Basically, that Siri is my slave. So easy when you don’t even have to type anything into your phone.
5. Prep the Night Before
During the school year, I do as much as I can the night before. That includes packing mine and Kennedy’s lunches, prepping my coffee, setting out my outfit, setting out Kennedy’s clothes (this is a must because Greg drops her off at MDO and let’s just say he has an interesting way of picking out clothes) and even showering. I do love any extra sleep I can get! I’m totally not a morning person, so this always helps.
So there you have it! My 5 time saving tips for moms! You’ll be a super mom in no time flat! Oh wait, I need to go put those sheets in the dryer…
In the meantime, don’t forget to take advantage of the $12 off promotion with code “WOWHUGGIES” at diapers.com!

I loved this Meg! We’ll make that family calendar with a few tweaks. Thanks for the tips. It’s exactly what I need aside from price matching. Really have to prepare for the holidays!
