Disclosure: I was sent these products for review, however, I was not compensated. Opinions 100% my own.
Some of you may have seen my Pregnancy Safe Skincare post and video and a lot of you all had given me great feedback. Many told me that they really enjoyed my tips. My post actually caught the attention of NYC-based luxury skincare line, Basq. They reached out to me so I could try some of their products. Of course, there’s something in it for you, as well! You definitely don’t have to be a mother to enjoy this.
I had heard of Basq before, but have never really seen it in stores. Probably because they are mostly carried in high end retailers I don’t frequent like Saks and other boutiques of the sort. Basq has a lot of celebrity mom fans! I had no idea. All of Basq’s products are formulated with high quality, pure ingredients. They are clinically tested, manufactured in the USA, and cruelty-free. This makes me feel good that I know I am putting high quality stuff on my skin. Pregnant or not, that is always important to me.
Here’s what they sent me.
Advanced Stretch Mark Butter
I’m not a big body butter person by any means (I tend to like lighter moisturizers), but this butter is amazing. It has a nice, clean scent that is seemingly thick at first, but absorbs into the skin and leaves it feeling fresh and light. It has an amazing list of ingredients that are all great for stretch marks and toning the skin. I didn’t get stretch marks when I was pregnant with Kennedy, and I haven’t gotten any thus far (knock on wood!), but I still feel it’s essential to keep that growing skin moisturized and flexible. This is so pampering and lovely!
Rebalancing Face Cleanser
This cleanser is a non-foaming cream cleanser and exfoliant. It claims to balance, clarify and refine without stripping. I definitely feel that it is a very gentle, yet exfoliating cleanser. I think it’s safe to use every day if you would like. It has a nice, unoffensive, clean scent. The only thing I don’t care for is that I have to scoop it out with my fingers. I much prefer a cleanser with a pump or squeeze tube, but the product inside is very nice. My face feels refreshed, yet moisturized after using it. It definitely doesn’t strip but still does an effective job of cleansing.
Calm Resilient Body Oil
I absolutely love all three of the products, but I have to say, the body oil is my favorite. First of all, the scent is absolutely amazing. I would have never thought that lavender and pear would go great together, but it is phenomenal. Automatically calming, that’s for sure. I also like that it’s safe to use on the face and the body. I love body and face oils for moisturizing, so this is right up my alley that it is multi-functional. My face has reacted well to it, and I layer it over the body butter for some extra moisture on my belly. It is definitely something that I can continue to use beyond pregnancy as my body (hopefully) goes back into pre-pregnancy shape, and to moisturize. I will likely take this with me to the hospital when I deliver since I can use it on my face and body!
Now the perk for you! One lucky reader will have the opportunity to receive a Tone & Glow gift set, which is retailed over $60! It includes a Citrus Sugar Body Polish and the Resilient Body Oil (their top-selling body oil). Don’t think you have to be a mom to enjoy this set. The toning body oil and scrub is something anyone can benefit from!

I’d definitely try that oil. I could use some calm in the next coming months! Moving half way across country, starting a new job, etc.
I don’t believe any product that says it can prevent stretch marks. I piled on anti-stretch mark and moisturizing products when I was pregnant with Jack, and I got stretch marks anyway. Genetics play a big part. I was heart broken when I got stretch marks at first. One morning I work up and it looked like I had been attacked by a tiger. But they faded quickly and are so fine they don’t bother me at all. They are a part of my body and who I am.
