Although the beloved pumpkin spice lattes have been out for a few weeks, the first official day of fall is next Wednesday! Down here in Houston, it’s still as hot as can be. We were lucky enough to get a little bit of a break from the heat this past weekend, and it got me dreaming of cooler temperatures, warm beverages, berry lipsticks, and deep nail polishes.
Does it look like I’m dreaming? I mean, I’ve got the warm beverage and berry nails, now the weather needs to catch up! Even though fall and winter isn’t exactly the seasons we focus on having glowy skin, healthy is definitely in. Let’s not also mention the huge strobing trend in makeup, which is all about making the skin dewy. Bottom line, glowy skin is in all year round. To help us transition our skin to fall, I’ve got a couple of tips and tricks to maintain that summer glow.
My best 3 tips for maintaining your summer glow in fall and winter:
Smooth out rough patches. When the seasons change, skin tends to get a little temperamental. Exfoliation is the first step in maintaining your summer glow. I love to make my own DIY Coconut Oatmeal Sugar Scrub because I can make it in small batches and use it whenever I am feeling a little “rough around the edges.”
Fake it. Ain’t no shame in faking that summer glow. I am not one for tanning in the first place, but I am all for self tanners. Who says they should only be used in the summer? Giving your skin a boost of color with a little self tanner is a great way to maintain that glow. I also love using bronzer on the face and down through the neck. I’m even totally okay with using that airbrush leg spray stuff when I have to bare my legs.
Moisture. This is the biggest tip! Obviously drinking enough water is key in your skin’s hydration, but adding in an effective skin moisturizer makes your job even easier. I’ve said it before, but I don’t like heavy and greasy moisturizers. They feel suffocating on my skin. I recently had the opportunity to try out the new Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizers and I was immediately intrigued by the concept.
You apply right after the shower on to wet skin and dry as normal – no rinsing needed. It absorbs instantly and locks in hydration. This makes so much sense to me, because when I have used some of my skincare products on a damp face, they are more effective at locking in moisture. This is genius! I’ve noticed immediately that my skin has felt soft and supple without greasy or any sort of heavy product feeling. It’s exactly what I am looking for in a moisturizer. I also love how the scents are not too heavy, but are also refreshing. My favorite is the coconut, because…. coconut.
I snagged up this brand new product at Target with Miss Caroline in tow. I took advantage of the 5% off Cartwheel offer right now, so go and snag you one too!
I know my skin is ready to stay glowy this fall and winter. What about you? Go check out this video and tell me which Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer you want to try!

I am super picky about moisturizers and hate ones that feel too heavy. Super intrigued by this one! I’ll for sure be checking it out. And I’m loving Jergens’ instant sun foam. Goes on easily and gives good color. And Lord knows this pale girl can use all the help she can get in the sunless tanner area.

I’ll have to check out this moisturizer, always using them!!! Great tips for fall, totally agree… scrubs, lots of water, berry lips (which I’ve already been wearing!) and a great moisturizer!

Oooh, this one has my ears perked! I love Jergens and actually use one of their lotions daily, so I’m interested to try this one. I like that you apply it while still wet, seems like that would definitely help lock in hydration.

I need to get better about moisturizing! Although, I already love Jergen’s Natural Glow, so I know I’ll love this. I just need to take a little more self-care. Love the reminder! 😉

I need that summer glow. I haven’t had it all summer – best I just fake it. LOL.
Will definitely check this out!
Thanks for sharing.

I actually have been using the Nivea In Shower Body Lotion after trying a sample pack from inside a magazine I got. I have no qualms about trying free product no matter where from. After a shower or two & my sample was gone I bit the new product purchase bullet & bought a full size bottle on my next weekly grocery trip. We’re now on our 2nd bottle at home & the only thing I’ve come to notice is I prefer the 1st bottle that was purchased based on scent alone. As far as feeling extra moisturized, I’m not so sure.
If I were to switch to using a different shower product, I could consider using this Jergens product, I’m not even sure what Monoi oil is let alone what it smells like; so I’d have to say I’d likely go for the Green Oil or Coconut Oil{being the more familiar scent- although I’d worry about smelling like tanning oil all day long 😉 } and that’s my long comment for a very simple question 😉

I love these tips! I agree that the glow is nice to keep all through the cold weather! Moisturizing alone helps so much with that! #client
