Disclosure: Thank you to Paula’s Choice for sponsoring this post. Opinions, like always, are 100% mine. #PaulasChoiceSkincare #PrimpLovesPaula #PowerPrimper
If you follow me on Snapchat (mo-meg over there!), you probably notice I’m really into skincare. I don’t post a ton about in on my blog because I really like to find the absolute best products before I recommend something to you guys.
I had the opportunity to try Paula’s Choice Skincare and immediately jumped on the chance because I have always wanted to try these products. Paula Begoun is the well respected founder of the company who does extensive research into the ingredients in our beauty products. I have used Beautypedia quite often when looking for skincare suggestions, because I really trust her authority.
Anyway, I had a skincare consultation over the phone, and was sent some items from their Resist line, which is for anti-aging and all over awesomeness.
For the past month, I’ve been using these products and am blown away. First I use the Resist Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser. I like how it’s soothing, creamy, and feels hydrating. Then the Resist Advanced Replenishing Toner comes next to refresh, tone, and remove last traces of makeup. Then comes the exfoliators – the stars of the show.
6 days out of the week I will use the Resist Daily Pore Refining Treatment with 2% BHA. Then once a week I will use the Resist Weekly Resurfacing Treatment with 10% AHA. Both of these products are a watery consistency that can be applied with a cotton pad or with the fingers. I try and concentrate these products around the mouth and on the forehead, where I am showing the most signs of fine lines.
I’ll finally follow up with the Resist Barrier Repair Moisturizer (Not pictured, because they were out of stock and I was sent the PC4Men Nighttime Repair in its place. It is the exact same moisturizer, but in different packaging.)
All of these products have been amazing, but I cannot rave about the AHA and BHA exfoliators enough, so let’s focus on them for a minute. If you haven’t started using either, you really need to add them into your skincare routine.
AHAs are Alpha Hydroxy Acids, and BHAs are Beta Hydroxy Acids. They penetrate the skin and exfoliate. The Paula’s Choice AHA is made with Glycolic Acid, and the BHA is Salicylic Acid. These acids are also used in chemical peels, but for every day use, so they are powerful. But these Paula’s Choice products are in much milder strengths for every day / weekly use.
Both AHAs and BHAs are wonderful for all skin types, but using the both in combination has had a powerful affect on my skin. It feels brighter and more youthful thanks to the AHA, and is clear from breakouts and clogged pores, thanks to the BHA.
Before I started testing out Paula’s Choice, I was only using an AHA serum. I really liked the results, but nothing like using both the AHA and BHA together. I think the key here is using both to produce a dramatic change in your skin. You will begin to notice far less breakouts (even during that time of the month I had zero!), a brighter skin tone, and an overall more youthful appearance. You will not be disappointed.
I’m so incredibly impressed with the Resist Line from Paula’s Choice, but again, cannot rave enough about these exfoliators. Just look below… no makeup on my face (aside from a little leftover mascara)! I did not retouch this photo whatsoever.
How I got to try these products were through an awesome beauty network called PRIMP. It’s a one stop shop to save favorite products, looks, tutorials, and also purchase the items right there without having to leave the site. It’s a really cool concept! Come join me on there! You can register using this link. So, because I am a Power Primper, I can offer you guys 20% off any Paula’s Choice order using the code PRIMPSPRING. Click the banner below to go get you some!
But wait, there’s more! Paula’s Choice and I are hosting a giveaway! One lucky reader will win a complete skincare regimen worth $150. This is good stuff, y’all. Enter the giveaway below! Good luck!

Love that this product is strong enough to get the job done, but mild enough not to clog pores since I have super sensitive skin. Entered and hope I win!

Great article! May you please tell me in which order of my AM skincare routine would I incorporate the BHA or AHA if using Vit C?
Thank you in advance for your help!
