A Mom’s Ease of Mind While Prepping for Flu Season

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Braun. The opinions and text are all mine.I can’t believe it’s already December! With that comes the cooler weather we all love, but the cold and flu season we all loathe. It’s tough when the littles get sick. No matter how much I guard the kids and get the flu shot, there is some kind of yucky sickness that will eventually creep into our home.

As soon as either of the girls feel even the slightest bit warmer, I pull out a thermometer.

Braun digital thermometers

Braun conducted a survey among 1,000 Millenial and Gen X moms, and 74% of them said that when they were caring for a sick child, they were most concerned about the child’s fever. Over 50% of the moms said that accuracy was the most important attribute of a thermometer. I definitely agree with both of those survey findings – I immediately become concerned about fever first, and second I need something accurate to read temperature.

I’ve been using another Braun thermometer for years, and recently upgraded to the Braun No Touch + Forehead Thermometer and the Braun ThermoScan® Ear Thermometer. Both are a lifesaver.

Braun no touch thermometer

The No Touch + Forehead Thermometer provides a clinically proven accurate reading by touching the forehead or up to 2 inches away. Innovative Braun technology captures twice as much body heat compared to traditional forehead products.

I particularly like this product for Caroline because…. hello, she’s a 2-year-old. Have you met a 2-year-old that sits still? It’s a miracle we even got this picture!

The ThermoScan® Ear Thermometer is the number one brand among pediatricians. The ear canal is the best site to measure a fever because of its close proximity to the eardrum, which shares the blood supply of the brain’s temperature control center.

Kennedy isn’t jazzed about this particular thermometer, but it was a life saver for us last week when she had a pesky stomach bug. She developed a fever quickly and I was able to monitor her throughout the evening easily.

Having these two thermometers on hand has us ready to weather the storm that is flu season! While it’s never an ease of mind to have a child with a fever, it definitely eases my mind to know that I’ve got the most accurate temperature readings.
