What’s in My International Carry On Bag

As you’re reading this post, we’ve already hit up Salzburg, Munich, and Rome. Now we’re in London! Be sue to follow along on Snapchat, because I have been snapping our whole trip. I’ve gotten lots of great comments and y’all seem to be loving it.
I love “what’s in my bag” type posts, so naturally I had to give you guys a peek inside my carry on bag. By the end of this European vacation, we will have gone on 6 flights and 3 train rides. I guess the term “jet setter” really applies here.
My Carry On Bag
Fawn Design sent me this amazing navy leather bag (no longer in stock – see all of their current bags HERE). I can’t believe its original purpose is a diaper bag. It’s so chic, but it’s so functional. Lots of pockets and space for my stuff, and it can stay organized. I also love how I can either wear it as a backpack or crossbody. This thing has been such a lifesaver for travel, especially for airports and trains. Just check out how awesome this bag looks in St. Peter’s Square in Rome.
In-Flight Entertainment
I got an iPad Mini 4 for Mother’s Day / my birthday, and I absolutely love the size, especially after having a larger iPad for years. There aren’t a lot of cases out for the iPad Mini 4s yet (it’s a slightly different size, womp womp), so I snagged this one on Amazon Prime.
My MacBook Pro has been with me on the flights. I will use it to edit photos and videos to pass the time, but stuck to my iPad for the most part.
My new mirrorless Canon EOS M10 came with me instead of my big ol’ DLSR. I am slightly obsessed with this camera. It’s got all of the fancy technology of a DSLR, it shoots HD video, it can send photos straight to my phone via wifi and an iPhone app, and has interchangable lenses. The kit lens is pretty darn good! I also love how I can easily shoot in manual, it has a tilting screen for selfies, and it’s as light as a feather. Best travel purchase I’ve made. I am also going to be using the heck out of this for blogging purposes after the trip, too! All of my travel photos on Instagram right now were shot with it (along with that pic of me in Rome), and I’m blown away at how good these photos are.
I’ve never owned a pair of fancy headphones ever! I think it’s due time, right? Especially for a 9 hour flight. Sudio Sweden sent me these oh so pretty earphones that are not only gorgeous but are wireless/Bluetooth headphones with impeccable sound quality. I’ve been using these if I want to watch a videos on my iPad at night, or listen to music. I also brought my other headphones with a plug to watch movies, so I brought that, too.
Stuff to Keep Me Cozy
Hoodie. I picked up a lightweight hoodie in the Target clearance. It’s hot as you-know-what down here in Houston, so the thought of wearing this at home makes me sweat, but it was a must-have on the plane.
Neck Pillow. I do not care one bit if I look ridiculous, but a neck pillow is the only way I am able to rest on an international flight in coach. I have tried others in the past, and I think the inflatable ones are the best, because not only are they compact, but they are the most supportive.
Stress Away. Stress Away is one of my favorite essential oil roller balls. It smells amazing and is very calming!
Toiletry Items
I did get tired of having makeup on my face, and my mascara pretty much crumbled away. I’ve packed these facial wipes for that, and then some travel size Tula moisturizer (one of my faves ever) to keep my skin hydrated in that dry, recirculated air.
I’ve also got:
- Toothbrush / toothpaste
- Depuffing eye cream
- Lip Balm
- Hair ties
- Gum
- A little bit of meds like ibuprofen, antacids, etc.
I think that about covers it! What is a must have for you in your carry on? I’d love to hear to make sure it’s in my bag on the way back!
oh i loved seeing this! also, can I have that bag??
I always keep an extra pair of clothes (in case luggage is lost for a day or two) and a battery backup charger.
I’m so in love with that bag! I always take a tote bag with me as a carry on but this looks so much better. Thinking I need to add it to my birthday wish list…
Yes to hoodies! Especially when on sale 🙂 I get freezing cold on planes and never have enough layers on.
The earbuds are beautiful. Have been looking wireless ones that wrap around. Are they comfortable sitting on the back of your neck. Is the clip provided used to clip the cord in place?
p.s. the bag looks cuter on you than in the Images on the web.
