10 High End Makeup Products Worth the Splurge

You all know how much I love drugstore makeup. I basically call myself the encyclopedia of the drugstore. However, I don’t discriminate when it comes to makeup. I LOVE IT ALL! I know not all of you loves it like I do, so I really like to find budget gems.

What about the high end makeup stuff? You go into Sephora or a department store and it seems to be a never-ending array of products. There’s always something new to try, and it can really be overwhelming. I totally get it. (Okay, I don’t really get it, because I know makeup really well, and I know what I’m looking for when I walk in. But it’s so easy to get distracted!)

10 High End Makeup Products Worth the Splurge by beauty blogger Meg O. on The Go

I’ve been meaning to film the Ride or Die Makeup Tag – a video where I go over all of my all-time holy grail makeup. I think I will have some time this week! In the meantime, I’ve compiled a list of my 10 favorite high end makeup products that you can add to your list when you feel like splurging. These are my tried and true favorites, and things you’ve already probably seen me recommend time and time again. You’ll also see many of these in my “Ride or Die” list.

High End Makeup Products Worth the Splurge:

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation // I have mentioned this foundation a lot, and it is so, so good. I wear it every time I know I will be having my photo taken. My skin always looks flawless with it on! Go get color matched and a sample of it at Sephora. Now!

Urban Decay Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer // Such a great full coverage concealer that is also light and blends out like a dream. This is a cult favorite among so many people, and with good reason. I adore this concealer!

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural // This powder has the most gorgeous finish ever – almost luminous but definitely not glittery. It’s not powdery at all, and really sets the foundation without it looking cakey.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz // I don’t think I can live without this brow pencil in my life. I have lost count of how many I go through. It’s probably 1 every 2 months.

Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette // I’ve tried a lot of contour palettes, and this one takes the cake. It’s absolutely stunning. The powders are creamy, blend out flawlessly, and work with so many different skin tones. Definitely pick this one over the Anastasia Contour Kit. Promise.

Nars Blush in ‘Madly’ // This is the most gorgeous blush… ever! It is so simple and very plain looking in the pan, but it gives the right amount of flush in the most natural way. It’s very neutral but also brings those cheeks to life. I wish I could describe it better.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Palette  // Definitely pick up this eyeshadow palette over any of the Urban Decay Naked palettes. It’s got an amazing array of neutrals with a few pops of color, and large highlight shades. If I had to use one eyeshadow palette for the rest of my life, this would be it!

Becca + Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector in ‘Champagne Pop’ // Um, hello favorite highlighter of life. It’s perfect and beautiful and everything, even if it has broken twice. So yeah, be very careful with it!

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick // This is my favorite liquid lipstick formula. So creamy, glides on easily, and stays put. I’m obsessed! I own Lovesick and Double Dare and they do not disappoint.

MAC Lipstick // You can’t go wrong with a MAC lipstick. Their formula is amazing and there are so many finishes. My favorite shades are Snob, Kinda Sexy, Flat Out Fabulous, and Creme Cup.

What are your favorite high end makeup products? I’d love to hear!

I was so incredibly UNDERwhelmed with the new Naked basics deluxe whatever pallet that I went for the Chocolate Bar. I tried it out the last time i was in Sephora and was worried that I wouldn’t like the chocolate smell but I went ahead and splurged for my bday.
What’s your stance on eyeliner. Do you go high end or drugstore?

I just found your website for the first time! Love it already!! Wondering if you have an alternative for the Bobbi Brown toner-it is amazing, but I’m really trying to reduce the amount of money spent on cosmetics-everything I have is Bobbi Brown……kind of silly!

Super odd that you like the MUFE foundation when you’re being photographed. It has a physical SPF in it and leaves a white cast to the skin in the presence of a camera flash.

A good (half the price) dupe for the UD concealer is actually Sephora’s Gel Concealer. I actually like it much, much better and it doesn’t crease the way the UD stuff did. Recommended to me by an employee and I’ve been using it ever since.

Just found your website. Love it! What do you think about the semi-sweet chocolate bar and peanut butter pallets?

Girl you’ve obviously never tried LipSense! It’s way better than Katie Von D, or any other brand for that matter. I’d love to be able to send you some, I promise you won’t be disappointed! 🙂
